Married to the King

So part of the reason you haven't seen a blog update in a month is that I'm lucky enough to be having a baby:)--by one of the the most original music makers out there (I dare you to say his music sounds like _________).

To be totally honest with you, I don't even like rap music anymore--haven't since the turn of the century (sorry but how often do we get to refer to anything as turn of the century?). Because of him I know about Devin the Dude and Grouch from Living Legends--but really other than that there's not much I can bear to listen to.

Except him. When we met he was at height of his West Coast underground shit with Bleu Collar--but his new project with DJ Troublemaker.... KING FANTASTIC.... is some other world shit (Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic to be exact). For me, a feminist who makes her bread and butter working with and supporting women that hasn't listening to rap in 10 years --to bump his shit and promote it to my friends and fans--means I can see past all the "bitches" and recognize what this project means for rap music and music in general.

Too Much Too Young

I hate to say it, but I was defnitely "too much too young"--hence the long acrylic hot pink nails at 13. But I was a tame one compared to the girls in the new Dimepiece Lookbook and Viral Video.
