HER Hearts...Runway Revolution

One of my favorite blogs/websites is Runway Revolution, which "Showcases Beauty Beyond a Size 10". A lot of the plus size blogs are kind of low budge, but this one is clean, crisp, and always has great up to date pics--especially of Crystal Renn. I also really like the voice of the woman who runs it, she has some sass about her and  I often agree with her industry critiques.

One of their latest posts was about this Canadian designer Stefanie Bezaire’s premiere collection--available only on Etsy--that I just adore. It's a little pricey to not be couture, but I really dig the styling. Check out a few of the pics.

Poolside Polish!

Minx are great and all, but it's colors like this that make me love polish. Can't wait til Summer! Can you say Mani's and Margaritas?!

I think this tangerine color will be my summer fav.

Nails at Fashion Week

Lots of folks have been sending me pics (which is awesome since I'm obviously too damn busy to post anything lately, let alone search for images) of cool nails at fashion week.

Love this color combo an Binetto--more on the clothes than the nails. Would have been cool with some white in them.

I've always loved white nails--and this shape is pretty much flawless. I remember I had white toe nails in high school and this boy made fun of me because he said I used white-out.

These are lace nails at Tracy Reese--honestly not terribly impressive. I have done nails with real lace before, and it's hard to pull off. I've been saving up images to do a lace/nail post soon-- (I'm kind of obsessed with lace so I can't just put any old post up. But for the record, I had lace nails at my wedding in "Summer 07"

Gold nails at Babyphat. Not sure if they're Minx, but the application looked pretty shotty.

I love this pic for a few reasons. First off the nails are pretty cool--especially the blue marble looking one at the bottom. Second, the shape is pretty awesome.

But the real reason is when I first started doing Event Nails I would sit with a box top on my lap--and stretch duct tape across the box, and lay nails down and paint/glue on them. I even went the Erykah Badu video with all these nails taped JUST LIKE THIS to a box, and felt so bootleg.
Apparently that's the industry standard!

I also had no idea so many of the nails at Fashion Week we glued on--like my Event Nails. Strangely, my biggest joy/goal isn't working with models or celebrities--more with "regular" chicks who just love to be daring. But it's good to know what I do is exactly what they need!

Ok these? Totally look like a few I've done.
You can't see these that well- but they're very similar.

And if these aren't Cassie knock-offs, then I'll be darned!

So basically, my shit rocks:) and I'm not dying over any innovation here. But I'm always happy to see nails displayed prominently on the scene. Thanks Fashion Week.

HER Hearts...Goodwill

So I am in the midst of spring cleaning and I came across my favorite "vintage" find ever. This green bathing suit I got at a Goodwill is Palo Alto years ago with my sister. My husband couldn't believe I bought a used bathing suit, I couldn't believe I found my dream suit for $5.
God Bless the Goodwill (and a good eye).

HER Hearts...Joplin Riley

Ever since I started eating Gluten Free, I've become obsessed with the food and products I put in and on my body.

Luckily one of my best friends owns an amazing ALL NATURAL Plant Based Body Products company--Joplin Riley.

All of her products are available online--my favs are the Lavendar Body Scrub and the Rosemary Mint Body Wash.

And she has some new scents--including Cinammon and Rose Geranium, that I'm pretty excited about.

If you love to smell good, feel good, and take care of yourself without all the striping alcohols and toxins--this brand is no joke.

Check her out.
